SUNDAY KVL TOP DIV 5....

SATURDAY SIDES HAVE NOW BEEN PICKED. SHUM IS NOW THE SATURDAY 1ST XI CAPTAIN>

( KFLE 1A 2009)

( KFLE 2B 2009)

( KVL Div 5 2009)

( MKYL U13)

( MKYL U17)

Shum has taken over full time as captain of the 1st xi. Our sides will now have more of a balance about them-certainly we will have a much stronger 1st xi. Over the next 5 weeks, we will be putting out really strong sides, with the twins available for some of the games, especially against Cowdrey, where we will have a really strong side out.

Jon's side will be stronger as well in some ways, for the upcoming juniors will be playing together and when they perform they will be moved up into the 1st xi.

Both saturday sides lost v Westgate - the 1st xi were soundly beaten with Nick Sandwell scoring 149 for Westgate-Hutch at last getting on the scorecard with a 50 and Fergus in particular bowling well.

The 2nd xi lost v table topping Westgate, but we should have won given we scored over 160 and they were 100 for 7...but alas we could not collect those lastf ew wickets. All credit to Westgate-lets hope we do better next time we meet in 9 weeks time.

However the Sunday KVL side continues to lead Div 5 in a division where Meopham, Southfleet and Town Malling also are unbeaten. We had a rained off game v Southfleet but we are due to play the other 2 in the last few weekends of the season-a fitting finale. Well done to Matt Britz, who scored 126.

The Ground as it is now...

The ground work that we have been doing over the last few years is now paying dividends. The wickets are much better, with good carry and bounce (this after several years of applying a higher clay content loam) and the outfield is without any bumps or weeds!

We hope you enjoy it when you come along and play at our lovely ground!
